Serving Suggestion
This tea is delicious hot or iced. Try mixing in some honey and/or lemon juice for a nice twist.
Light and fruity desserts pair well with this tea, such as a passion fruit tart, perhaps a papaya sorbet.
If you’re not in the mood for fruit, try a cheese plate with a blend of mild and sharp cheeses like Colby and cheddar.
Physical Uses
Passionfruit is often used to flavor drinks and candy. It also contains a sedative used to treat anxiety and insomnia. In addition, papaya pieces help digestion by breaking down complex proteins like those found in meat. So it can be good to sip this tea after a heavy meal, or when you’re feeling uneasy.
Metaphysical Uses
Papaya is symbolic of love and protection. By comparison, passionfruit is symbolic of peace and sleep. Also, sunflower is symbolic of wishes and wisdom. Together they make a brew designed to wish for peaceful love, or a perhaps peaceful, safe home. We can all relate to that.
To bring happiness to your home: brew a cup of this tea and use a spoon to flick small amounts of the brew at your doorways and windows. Speak aloud, as you are flicking, that you ask the Powers That Be (by whatever name you call them–God, the angels, your Ancestors, Zeus, Hera, etc.) for protection and peace, happiness and safety. When you are done, sit in the middle of your house and sip the tea. As you drink it, inhale the scent, swish the taste around in your mouth, and envision your home slowly filling with Light. Let the power of the components in the tea sustain the Light. Let them focus and shape it toward happiness and protection.
For a harder punch: if troubles continue in your home, or you are still not feeling safe/happy after flicking the tea, mix the dry tea with salt (any kind, but sea salt is best) and lay that in a line at the base of all your doors. Repeat aloud the statement–that you are asking for a peaceful home, filled with love and happiness–as you lay down the tea-salt mixture. Leave it there for 3 days, then sweep it out the door. As you are sweeping, envision that you are literally sweeping all the unhappiness and danger right out of the house! By then, the salt will have absorbed the negativity, and the tea will have done its work. Sweep it all out!
